June 2013 – May 2015. Gerda Henkel Foundation Marie-Curie M4Human Programme Fellow (Marie-Curie COFUND) in the Faculty of History at the University of Oxford (UK). Title of the project: ‘The Heralds of Modernity: nationalist-populist armed movements in pre-WWI Europe’ supervisor: Prof. Martin Conway (Balliol, Oxford University).
February 2013 – January 2014. Junior Research Fellowship (Research Assistant), Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World, University of Padua (Italy). Title of the project: ‘The heralds of violence’; supervisor: Dr Giulia Albanese.
EDUCATION
January 2008 – April 2011. PhD in History - Faculty of Humanities, Department of Historical and Geographical Sciences and the Ancient World, University of Padua (Italy). Thesis title: ‘The essence of Fascism: the development of squadrismo between terrorism and normalization (1919-1932)’ [‘L’essenza del fascismo: la parabola dello squadrismo tra terrorismo e normalizzazione (1919-1932)’]. The examination board (chaired by Prof. Emilio Gentile) deemed the PhD thesis excellent.
September 2005 – October 2007. Two-year Master Degree in Modern and Contemporary History [Laurea specialistica in storia Moderna e contemporanea] – Faculty of Humanities, Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World, University of Padua (Italy). The Master was completed with a (250-page) thesis on contemporary history. Thesis title: ‘Between Italy and Switzerland: the information network of the Resistance in 1943-1945’, supervisor Prof. Silvio Lanaro. This work earned me a first-class degree (110/110 with honours).
