Research activity and training
From 01/03/2019 Assistant Professor in Veterinary Clinical Pathology (SSD: VET03).
From 01/2017 to 12/2018: post-doc researcher (Supervisor: Prof. Maria Elena Gelain, Ph.D, ECVCP diplomate). Research project: evaluation of suitable biological matrices as tools to measure biomarkers in stranded cetaceans: first steps towards a ‘‘molecular necropsy’’.
From 05/2016 to 07/2016 and from 02/2017 to 03/2017 Visiting Research Associate at College of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University (WA). development and validation of automated and manual assays to measure the serum paraoxonase-1 (PON-1) activity as negative acute phase reactant in cetaceans; post-mortem examination of five dolphins; monitoring of the Swan River (Western Australia) dolphin community; participation to clinical-pathology rounds, internal medicine rounds and research master students’ seminars. The results of the research activities were exposed in a seminar attended by Murdoch University academic staff and students.
