• EDUCATION

Prof Alessandra Buja graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua in 1998 with a final mark of 110/110 with distinction.

In 2005 she completed her specialization in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine at the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health, and was awarded a final mark of 70/70 with distinction.

In May, 2006 she began working as a researcher at the University of Padua.

In 2008 she obtained a PhD in “Territory, Environment, Resources and Health: Environmental medicine: nutrition and pollution”

In 2009 she obtained a second-level master's degree in the economics and management of health services at the University of Ferrara with a final mark of 30/30 with distinction.

• CURRENT POSITION

Since 2018 she has been associate professor at the University of Padua, with 184h annual lectures in 5 Bachelor degree, 2 Master, and 2 School for Specialization.

She is head of the Laboratory of Evaluation of Health Care Services and Health Promotion at the Unit of Hygiene and Public Health, Dept of Cardiological, Vascular, Thoracic Sciences and Public Health, University of Padua



• SUPERVISION OF GRADUATE STUDENTS AND POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS

2010–2011 Scientific Director of three researchers on scholarships, under an agreement with the Veneto Regional Authority, Regional Statistical System, at University of Padua
2011-to date tutor of scientific research activities of emore than twenty physicians in training in hygiene and preventive medicine, Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Padua.

• SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES AND COLLABORATION

From 2002 to 2011 she worked at the Laboratory of epidemiological methods and biostatistics at the Epidemiological Methodology Unit of the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health, involved in the statistical analysis of data deriving from the ILSA epidemiological study (Italian Longitudinal Study on Aging) in cooperation with the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, an activity that has resulted in international publications. Since 2003, she has collaborated with the Occupational Epidemiology Unit at the University of Padua. In particular, she has conducted significant research on the epidemiological risk factors an activity that has resulted in international publications.

In 2008 she was head of the Italian team conducting task project “Cost-effectiveness analysis of compliance with clinical practice guidelines for initial sarcoma treatment” (WP4, CONTICANET project), Italian coordinator Prof. Rossi, founded by 6th Framework Program of the European Commission.

In 2009 she participated in research for a project funded by the University of Padua for assessing the socio-economic and health impact of costly new cancer treatments in the Veneto Region, in cooperation with the Veneto Regional Healthcare Agency.

She collaborates with several Veneto Region Healthcare Agencies to evaluate health care services performances.

In particular, since 2012 she collaborates with the National Health Agency for the analysis of data for the project VALORE in health primary care.

In 2016 she collaborates also with Health Ministry 2016-2017, defining and building a database for reading regional prevention planning.

Actually she is acting in a team with IOV developing an analysis of the costs of patients with skin melanoma in the Veneto Region.

She has authored N 206 scientific articles, of which 196 are indexed in Scopus, Number of citations in Scopus: 2671 and an H-Contemporary INDEX in Scopus: 27.
