PACCAGNELLA ALESSANDRO

Alessandro Paccagnella graduated in Physics at the University of Padua in 1983. He has been Research assistant (1986) and Associate professor (1992) at the universities of Trento and Cagliari, respectively, and (2000) Full professor of electronics at the University of Padua, Italy. Since August 2015, he is Honorary professor of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. A. P. has been Director (Chair) of the Department of Information Engineering (2008-2014) and member of the Academic Senate (2012-2014). Since October 1st, 2015, A. P. is the Vice-rector for international relations of the University of Padua.
A. P. is author of more than 300 papers published on international peer-reviewed journals. His H-index is 40 and his papers have received more than 11,400 citations (Scopus). He holds also 7 patents. He has co-authored works, which received several Awards at various conferences (ESSDERC, NSREC, RADECS, ESREF).
He coordinates the research activity of the RREACT group at the Department of Information Engineering, working on the reliability of micro/nanoelectronic devices. His research work is focused on the study of ionizing radiation effects on single devices and integrated circuits, with emphasis on non-volatile memories and ultrascaled CMOS technologies, for terrestrial, space and high energy physics applications. Since few years, he has started in parallel a research activity in the field of biosensors, with various applications in the biomedical and agrifood fields.
He actively collaborates with many international academic, industrial and research laboratories. He has been responsible of various research projects and contracts.A.P. is a senior member of IEEE. At present, he is member of the Editorial Board of the Journals Sensors and Biosensors.
