NORO MARCO

Marco Noro was born in 1975. He gains his Master Degree in Management Engineering in 2000, and his PhD in Energetics in 2004 (University of Padova). From October 2015 he is Associate Professor of “Applied thermodynamics and heat transfer”, teaching also in the courses of “Energy Management”, “Renewable energies management”, and “Applied Acoustics” at the University of Padova.
He is Supervisor of 30 Thesis and Co-supervisor of 20 Thesis in the fields of energy management, cogeneration, heat pumps, renewable energy, chemical dehumidification, refrigeration, energy storage, urban heat island phenomenon. He is supervisor of 1 PhD Thesis titled “Energy efficiency in industrial facilities. Improvements on energy transformation and data analysis”.

He does his scientific activity in the field of energy saving technologies applied to production and utilization of thermal and electric energy in residential, tertiary and industry.
The Research activity is summarized in more than 210 publications, many in international scientific journals and conferences, 3 books and 10 book chapters (70 publications indexed in Scopus, h-index 19). He has been invited speaker in international and national conferences.

He participated in research projects founded by European Union, Italian Ministeries, and Veneto Region and in a number of research projects founded by public and private companies.

Actually he is the Coordinator of the Incoming test evaluation Commission of the Faculty of Engineering. He is the Scientific Coordinator of the Library Commission of the Department of Management and Engineering. He is member of the Industrial Engineering PhD Board.

He is reviewer of a number of important international journals in the field of energy (all indexed in Scopus).

He is active member of AiCARR (Italian Association of HVAC engineers) since 1999, member of the Scientific Committee of the Air Conditioning journal (now Aicarr Journal) from 2004 till 2010, member of the Aicarr Board during 2008-2010 and 2020-2022.
He is author of some books of the AiCARR technical collection:
- author of the second volume on the fuel cells (two editions in 2003 and 2010);
- co-author of the fifth volume on the Italian electric sector (2005);
- author of two chapters of the Aicarr HVAC Guide (2010, third edition in 2020);
- co-author of the eighteenth volume on the heat pumps cold sources (2012).
He won the "Premio Sanguineti" (AiCARR best paper) in 2010 and received a recommendation in 2006. He won the fourth edition of "HVAC plant awards" by Reed Business Information in 2007.
