PONTEFISSO ALESSANDRO

Alessandro Pontefisso enrolled for the bachelor course in Mechanical Engineering at University of
Padova in 2006, obtaining the degree in 2009. After that, he enrolled for the master course in
Product Innovation Engineering, at the same university, obtaining the degree in 2011.
Later, he joined the Phd school of Mechatronics and Product Innovation Engineering of the
University of Padova, where he discussed a thesis entitled “Modelling and Optimization of the
Mechanical Properties of Polymer Based Nanocomposites” in February 2015.
During his PhD, Alessandro was a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Toronto, Canada.
After the PhD, Alessandro obtained a 10-month position as a postdoc at the Wind Energy department of Denmark
Technical University. There he joined an on-going research activity on performing computational
simulations of nanocomposite materials.
Following his postdoc, in 2016, Alessandro was hired as Project Manager and Design Engineer at
Dometic Group, were he designed ovens and followed project developments.
In 2018, Alessandro became an Application Engineer at Teamsystem group carrying out delivery
projects focused on SolidWorks software, by Dassault Systemes.
In September 2020 Alessandro became external lecturer in Machine Design for the degree in
Management Engineering at the Department of Management and Engineering of the University of
Padova. He also got a position as a postdoc in the Harvest project (https://www.harvest-
project.eu/).
Finally, in January 2021 Alessandro quit the postdoc position for becoming Researcher at the same
department. Now, he is carrying out his research activity on the modelling of the mechanical
properties of 3D printed reinforced polymers. He is also in charge of lecturing 24h hours (3CFU) in
Machine Design for the bachelor course in Product Innovation Engineering, and 48h (6CFU) for the bachelor's degree in management Engineering.
