BASSO CRISTINA

Cristina Basso graduated in Medicine in 1990, is Full Professor of Pathological Anatomy at the University of Padua. Cardiologist, Pathologist and PhD in Cardiological Sciences, she has conducted research of anatomo-clinical correlative nature in the cardiovascular field, with application implications in the clinical field.
Responsible of the Regional Registry for Cardio-Cerebro-Vascular Pathology manages the connection with all the Units of Pathological Anatomy, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery as well as with the Forensic of the Veneto Region.
From a scientific point of view, the fields of study are sudden death, cardiomyopathies, coronary heart disease, pathology of arrhythmias and conduction tissue, cardiac tumors and valvulopathies. As such, it is part of Research Networks on these issues and coordinates the Network of the Veneto Region for Cardiovascular Pathology (endomyocardial biopsies and sudden juvenile death).
She is Director of the 2nd level Master in Cardiovascular Pathology at the University of Padua since 2013.
For her international role and organizational skills also at the level of Scientific Societies, she was appointed President of the Society for Cardiovascular Pathology (USA).
She is Principal Investigator of numerous competitive grants.
She has more than 500 full-length publications to his credit, of which 339 in international peer reviewed journals for a total IF of 2844; Contemporary H-Index (Scopus): 98, No Quotes (Scopus): 28237
She is co-author of 7 monographs.
